Style Fashion Design Students: From the 60s to the present day
If you want to be a top designer today, you need to go up a fashion school, and New York has two schools in the world's best fashion. FIT and Parsons
Students in today's fashion FIT, on the 27th and 7 Avenue in New York, student life a lot easier than my class fashion design at Parsons in 1964, is located.
In the 60s, Parsons was in a converted garage on 54th Street East, and it was certainly visually unfriendly crowded with small rooms, missing a large open spaces and elevator ugly gray.
Today, the two schools have beautiful fashion large campus and classrooms near 7th Avenue with all the shops in the center of clothing supplies handy. FIT, where I am now a critical (this year, I have the distinction of Adrian), restaurants can, galleries, courtyards and an auditorium, where a stage designer as I give lectures with hundreds of students at a giant. We can. Even our own films on a big screen with all the attributes of the city's universities
My 30-some students who are in their early 20s, come from all over the world. The central courtyard at lunch looks beautiful world in United Nations Plaza.
Each student is highly motivated because they got the most talented young people in their respective countries, to New York to learn not only how to draw, drape or sew, but how to learn to compete, which is the basis for, the world of fashion. Designers must learn to beat the competition, not only for the price, but for the purpose, the optimum is to outsell the competition.
Just go to the FIT is a pleasure for the designer. I followed a naked blonde-backed road 27, and later that day I went to get a shirt blue tiles cut for me to buy.
I loved this new idea on the first day of school at the end of August to carry with the see-through lace skirt and matching beige blue slippers. (If we dressed so in 1962, we would have been discarded.)
I had to wear big problems at Parsons in autumn 1962 mini dresses to look first in New York, while four inches above my knees, and I was called into the dean's office and a warning. I refused to renew my skirts, and actually shared with Mia Fonssagrives, which also began to wear short skirts and then there were two of us flashing bare legs. And, as was his stepfather Irving Penn at Vogue, sighed leaders Parsons and gave up.
The miniskirt started our career, and in two years we have been photographed in Life magazine, to bring the mini Parisian couture. We do not call for the creation of mini-New York 1962, and Mary Quant has effectively abandoned the property of the first Mini, now say that it came from the street. Yes, there are two fashion students came on the road, which still new to the next thing.
When I teach students, I tell them that they always wear their own clothes, where to go, even on grounds of race, and promote their art and themselves as a package. At FIT, taking both men and women, students with an individual style. Menswear designer Thom Browne has with the costume he wore pinched shop changed.
The teacher, Barbara Arata-Gavere, is a designer and painter Frank Gavere married. We had clothes that were inspired by Hollywood and choose Adrian, who were also new and wearable today! I insist on the creation of fashion, salable. Artists can create, the designers need to sell something, and a lot.
I took Nelly Guinand dress and clear plastic casing, not realizing it was also a great natural beauty which does not hurt in the world of fashion. There are exceptions, Coco Chanel created her extraordinary beauty with new creative style. Pauline Trigere, Elsa Schiaparelli and Edith Head have each created their own style, screamed as the big oversized head Sonia Rykiel red hair or white sunglasses Emmanuelle Khanh, "I'm here" when she entered a room. The fashion world knew by sight.
I was invited by friends in the industry that I can not post a comment at my old school, Parsons, and the answer is simple, they do not ask! George Simonton, renowned designer and professor at FIT shows I asked to talk to his school when he said that I had heard a lot of time in New York. I was witness to their classes and students love it, and I try to follow in his footsteps on TV as it is on QVC, and I'm now on HSN. George believes that the sales of televisions luxury dress still be stronger growth in the future.
The world of fashion is constantly changing, but one thing remains the same - the talent is readily apparent, and a lot of work in the industry welcomes young and hungry.
But it's not all, in addition to the effort you want to be an artist more than anything else ... just ask my husband!

most memorable Christmas present
'The most memorable Christmas present I Hermes Garden Partyever received was when I was eight. I really wanted a pet lizard for Christmas and my parents said 'no'. When Christmas eve came around, my mom and dad lead me into their bedroom and all the lights were off except a glowing terrarium with my new lizard inside. I was so excited!''I always ask my friends and family to buy a gift from Oxfam Unwrapped. Purchasing an alpaca or a goat or a farm essentials kit for families in need are totally unique gifts that reminds us that giving is receiving.'
The smell of cinnamon and vanilla always reminds me of Christmas,' says Scarlett. 'My family always makes a Danish rice pudding with almonds and a cherry sauce for the holidays and it is only made once a year. The scent of it cooking fills the whole house'.
'I love to make my eyes really pop for New Year's hermes online outlet store. It's a sexy, festive look to ring in the New Year. The new Dolce&Gabbana Glam Liner, £24.50 (at Harrods) is easy to apply and you can make the line as defined as you want without making a big mess!'Apply two layers of mascara to the upper and lower lashes, allowing time for the coats to dry inbetween. Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara, £10.99 by L’Oreal Paris is my all time favourite mascara for faking falsies and creating perfectly separated, big volume lashes.
And there you have it, a sultry smoky eye in 180 seconds. Feel free to experiment with colour; a rich emerald green or an inky blue would make great alternatives. This smoky eye comes with gothic drama and girly glamour in equal measures and after lots of practise, I’ve worked out how to recreate it in only five steps, and a mere 3 minutes of work. It couldn’t be more ideal for a quick makeover in the office bathroom before heading out this evening.
Modern glamour means choice rather than rules. It’s diverse and personal, finding the various glamour looks that suit your different moods and occasions. Modern glamour is individual; it’s about enhancing and intensifying your beauty, rather than copying someone else’s look. It isn’t one look fits all, but about working with your personality and Hermes Jypsiere Bagslifestyle.

Best Beauty Products Of 2012
The "Best Beauty Products Of 2012" Authentic Chanel Bagscovers the top cosmetics, skin care and hair products out of the hundreds that have crossed our editors' desks this year. Winners are chosen through expert analysis based on quality, value and efficacy. Want to nominate your favorite product?
To say that the editors at HuffPost Style are obsessed with nail polish would be a huge understatement. We spend countless hours on the weekends accessorizing our manicures with nail art, go to extreme lengths to road test celebrity nail trends and take reporting on the best top coats just as seriously as Michelle Obama's style.Much like the backbreaking purses we tote our lives around in, we found it difficult to stop reaching for these nine nail shades that stunned us with their amazing hues, finishes and wearability. Flash fingers painted in our top nail polish colors of the year and you'll definitely turn heads.
Demi Moore appeared to be having a blast at Chanel’s beach party in Miami on Wednesday. The actress, who just celebrated her 50th, was reportedly goofing around with Lenny Kravitz, grinding on the dance floor and throwing back Red Bulls. Although Moore, who wore a cute gray romper, was hanging with Kravitz most of the night, her reported flame, Vito Schnabel, 26, was said to be near.
it has been described by Alexandra Shulman on Vogue.co.uk as “magical” and the Vogue Editor-in-Chief even took to twitter to say how much she liked the hair. Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2013, Metiers d’Art collection in Edinburgh’s Linlithgow Palace has been a triumph. Inspired by Mary Queen of Scots (the show did take place in her birthplace after all), Karl’s collection fused tartan, tweed and theatre. For the hair, Sam created two looks, the first of which was homage to Queen Mary, on 18 girls. Hair was braided, frizzed, padded and pinned – a process which took an hour for each girl. The more simple second look for the rest of the girls was boyish braids, which were used to frame the face. All looks were piled with jewels, which were carefully planned the day before to make sure they sat perfectly in the style. Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of Chanel Make-up, framed eyes with double swooshes of black liner were set against velvety matte skin for a modern twist. Long live Authentic Chanel Shoulder Bags the Queen.

Ian Burrell: Fashion and political means "Vice" is only
It took a pornographic website truck into position to drive as one of the most influential brands in the world of youth-oriented media. Last year he bought the portal vice.com coal from a pornographer and it turned into the new home for his special blend of sarcastic fashion and avant-garde video messages. "A lot of people came to vice.com horny and get long-form documentaries, probably not what they wanted," says dryly: media VICE Tyneside-born President Andrew Creighton, in a visit to London from his New York base.
For readers who have not heard of vice, is which style magazine The Face could, if it had not developed and crows feet have been cut by Father Time. This is a multi-platform brand with stunning confidence. In its assessment of all walk-fashion stories of complicated international political and social issues It has to buy a distinctive voice, and many young people continue. The new website is Vice past two million monthly users, 15 millons in a little over a year.
The magazine, founded in the format in which the defect was now less than 5 percent of cases, compared to 70 percent five years ago. The company has signed an agreement with the United States to offer cable HBO documentaries, and Vice-label releases their next album Snoop Dogg. A feature film of 90 minutes on the new character rapper - Rasta-inspired "Snoop Lion", no less - was made by the vice-editor Andy Capper World, another Englishman, and festival recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Already in operation in 36 countries worldwide, is to open a vice March editorial in Beijing, with an office in Shanghai advertising. Creighton Capper and both came on board a decade ago when the magazine in the UK has been launched after Montreal was founded in 1994. And therein lies the challenge for the vices. He scored his 10th Birthday with a party in London, where Ronson was (37 years) played a DJ and The Klaxons (Mercury prize winner in 2007) live. Vice has a historical relationship with both of them - but the young readers have their own musical heroes. Likewise, it is not easy for a brand to the youth to stay cool and avoid being marginalized by the media adopted by the next generation. When looking for a young person for intelligent online content - beyond breaking news - I think they are either looking for originality from an underground source, or try to learn something established by an information provider with a longstanding reputation for quality. After 18 years of existence, a title such as Vice-risk youth is falling between two stands, but somehow straddle both.
The approach is supported by the fact that the co-founder Shane Smith, vice present first documentary for HBO, after obtaining images of the so-called suicide bombers and other groups who live in the tribal areas in Pakistan-Afghanistan border, represented where traditional media companies have to operate fought.
Vice also has two successful YouTube channels, one compensated for the music and the other under the direction of serious films as well. Of which the most popular one piece on crocodile, a dangerous drug can be reused in Russia, and are a function called "the first animal to survive in space," which is on the organisms that live outside of the atmosphere. The film was viewed over 10 million times.
Other films have. One Spirit Hunter S Thompson to the author in the center of the story, which seems to a young audience that feel connected to the world and grew their own films to make resonance Creighton, 40, says the deputy can be concentrated as a mark on the youth, because its editorial voice is trustworthy in an era where the traditional media are viewed with suspicion by the young audience. "Be it culture, news, music, we have the same attitude and tone," he said. "The fact that young people are also interested in Pakistan as they are in the shoes is."
The romance of the let-wear heavy-news-for-children will endeavor by the fact that Creighton is a commercial animal, tempered with roots in advertising than journalism. He knows he can not be able to afford business customers, the credibility of service for reasons of short-term profits erode. "If I try to lose compete on the same terms as the big media companies we", he admits: ".. We need to keep our voices and our product range - Otherwise we will have nothing to sell, I'm always aware of it."
Creighton already sells advertising for iD and other style and fashion magazines, but were disappointed. "You should have been too edgy, non-conformist and highlight the culture, but they were essentially turn advertisers and PR, because they wanted to make money," he recalls. But he saw something else in the irreverence of Vice. "I've never laughed so much," he said. "I could not believe that the freedom they had in writing and the tone was always very British humor. I just know it works in the UK."
The face has been published for 24 years until 2004 and is now suffering as a museum piece in the V & A. Thank you to the video and the Internet, it is not necessary to service the same fate.
Mind, spirit and attitude was not enough to save "Daily"
Rupert Murdoch has launched its digital newspaper The Daily with a mission statement that it would be said. "A combination of world-class stories with the unique capabilities of the iPad interactive"
Was last week that to close the company less than two years after Mr. Murdoch said he, "can save the newspapers." The The Daily attracted 100,000 subscribers, despite the charge just £ 25 per year (7p per day).
The latest edition of the Daily will be published on Saturday, although some of the 120 employees can be found on the positions of Mr Murdoch's New York Post.
Any sense of comfort that were came with the new has been mitigated by the front page of the tabloid newspaper the next day shows a man holding on to a subway platform when the train was about to kill approached him. Insensitive journal title says simply: "Condemned".
To publish despite a wave of indignation in his decision, leaning on his last post sensationalism comment. The freelance photographer, who has the image said he hoped the flash of his camera lead the engineer to stop.
This is perhaps not quite that News Corp. employees thought they had when they signed up for the day and the editor, Jesse Angelo, has promised. "We have to punch, funny title we will have a certain spirit and verve and attitude, but that does not mean we. Not an analysis of 1500 words Afghanistan"
Leveson is now trying the Law on the Internet
With quotes from Charles Dickens, Henry James and comments about the recent scandals in the media, Lord Justice Leveson speech at the University of Technology Sydney last week was a racy read his report of 2000 words eight days earlier.
As Fleet Street editors met in London, humbly Sir Brian plans for a new watchdog (the legal basis that prevent recommended) to accept the architect of the system was compensated regulatory Down Under, founding Web that as if he had learned to connect. "It takes a minute for someone to do something in a public place and upload it to the internet register," he said. "Once Internet consequence, the behavior is seen there for the world and permanently at the click of a mouse."
Perhaps Sir Brian, the social media and Google should allow part of the "shadow of the law" would have only nine more pages to be said on the influence of the band in his magnum opus.
The next episode of Justice, a discourse of Melbourne, was broadcast live from a London law firm with a "Breakfast with Leveson" event Wednesday. What discoveries media he did this week?
